With the direction that our world is going, its imperative to have your business online. Yes, even if you have an actual building that your customers could walk into.
However, more and more people every day are realizing the efficiency and freedom the internet has given us. It's allowed us to e-mail instead of sending physical mail, web conferencing instead driving to have a in person meeting, shop without leaving your home, advertise without walking door to door.
But not many people know how any of the back end processes work. Plus theres SO many different options out there of what you can do for E-commerce, email marketing, website development, social media ads, sales funnel, and the list goes on and on and on.
So what steps do you need to follow to take your business online?
1. Understand Your Avatar
I want you to think of your Avatar as your perfect customer. That one person who you know will LOVE your product or service and step into their shoes for the day. What do they search online, what does their every day look like, how old are they, what gender, what do they do for fun, etc. The more you know about this person the better.
2. Content Development
Having content that your audience could value from is very important as it's the first step to building a lasting relationship. You can provide this content to them by utilizing your social media pages such as Facebook Fan Pages, Instagram Accounts, YouTube videos, Snap Chat, etc.
My biggest piece of advice for using these pages most effectively is NOT to sell. Use your social media accounts to show your personality, build a friendship. Make sure to be true and authentic always.
3. Connect Through Advertising
What if I could tell you by plugging in a few key words, behaviours, demographics and locations we could put YOU and your content, products and services in front of people who are ALREADY looking for what you are offering...
I know, it's actually not THAT easy, but welcome to social media advertising. One of my favourite subjects.
In short, I'm one of those who are saying good-bye to yellow pages, building lists, handing out brochures or coupon codes.
4. Automatically Follow Up
Sometimes it takes 7-9 times for someone to see your content or offer before they take advantage of what you're offering. Especially when you're online only.
Instead of having your customer view your content, go out and search for competitors , get busy with life and forgetting all about you, you will want to use an autoresponder to automatically follow up with ANYONE who takes an action or interest in your business.
Autoresponder sequences make it EASY to follow up with every single person with out you:
1. have to manually type emails to every single person
2. pick up the phone
3. send a text message
4. hope that they come back into the store.
You have the ability to send out ONE e-mail to every single person by setting it up only once. Now that's automation at it's finest.
There of course is a lot more that I can dive into when looking at taking your business online, but here is the first steps for you to follow!
